Blueberry Oatmeal Recipe – Easy Healthy Breakfast
Ingredients:
– 1 cup Milk (Milk of Choice, I used Almond Milk)
– 1 cup Water ( I used hot water)
– 1 cup Old Fashioned Oats
– Pinch of Salt
– 1 Tbsp Sugar or Honey
– 1 – 1 1/2 cups of frozen Blueberries/Raspberries.
Directions:
- Pour in 1 cup of water and 1 cup of milk of your choice in a saucepan. We have allergies in our family, so we use almond milk.
- Add a pinch of salt.
- Turn your stove on medium heat then add 1 cup of old-fashioned oats.
- Give the oatmeal/milk mixture a quick stir. Let it cook for about 5 to 8 minutes. Stirring occasionally.
- Turn down the heat to low when the oatmeal thickens.
- Add in 1 tbsp of sugar or honey, whichever sweetener you prefer.
- Add in 1 to 1 1/2 cups of blueberry/raspberries. I like to use about 1/2 of blueberry and 1/2 of raspberries. Sometimes, I’ll add more of particular berry; it all depends on what I had in my freezer.
- Give the berry oatmeal a quick stir and let it cook on low heat for about 2 to 3 minutes. You’re just warming up the frozen berries.
- When your berries have warmed up, scoop out a ladleful of this deliciousness.
- Top your blueberry oatmeal with your favorite toppings: sliced banana, granola..etc. Enjoy your Berry Oatmeal!
This blueberry oatmeal recipe was enough for 3 little boys. I recently had to make a bigger batch of berry oatmeal when my boys serving size increased.
